देश को धर्म युद्ध नहीं चाहिए। देश को न्याय और समता कायम करने के लिए जनयुद्ध चाहिए। बनारस की गंगा हो या भागलपुर की, उसमें कोई स्नान के लिए जाता है, तो उसे रोकने का कोई अधिकार किसी को नहीं है। संत हों या आम आदमी – दोनों में कोई अंतर नहीं है। दोनों में से किसी की आजादी को छीनने की कोशिश सरकार को नहीं करनी चाहिए।

दरअसल आज की धार्मिक गतिविधियाँ अध्यात्म की ओर न जाकर राजनीति की ओर मुड़ गई है। धार्मिक कार्य मनुष्य को नफ़रत, ईर्ष्या और वासना से मुक्त नहीं कर रहे। एक संत को तपस्या में नहीं, सत्ता में मजा आने लगता है। फ़ूहड़ और लोगों को उत्तेजित करने वाली बोली बोलने लगता है। मनुष्य और मनुष्य में अंतर करने लगता है, तब वह संत नहीं रह जाता, न धार्मिक व्यक्ति रह जाता है। ऐसे व्यक्ति धार्मिक चिह्न भले धारण कर लें, लेकिन वे धार्मिक नहीं रह जाते।

शंकराचार्यों को कभी समता में भरोसा नहीं रहा। वे हिन्दुओं में भी समता कायम नहीं कर सके, बल्कि कहना चाहिए कि इसके लिए उन्होंने कोशिश नहीं की। हिन्दुओं की ठेकेदारी करना अलग बात है, हिन्दुओं को मानसिक रूप से श्रेष्ठ बनाना दूसरी बात। जो धर्म किसी को श्रेष्ठ और किसी को हीन बनाता है, वह दरअसल धर्म नहीं है। धर्म को अलौकिक सत्ता में भरोसा होता है। वह यह मानता है कि ईश्वर ने ही सभी को जन्म दिया। सभी ईश्वर की संतानें हैं। दरअसल धर्म की यह सामान्य अवधारणा भी धार्मिक लोग नहीं मानते। कहना चाहिए कि जो मनुष्य और मनुष्य में विभेद करता है, वह और कुछ हो, धार्मिक नहीं है।

इन दिनों : अतिरिक्त बुद्धि का कृष्ण पक्ष

हम फर्जी धार्मिक चेतना फैला कर जनता को गुमराह कर रहे हैं और देश को तबाह करने पर तुले हैं। सर्वोच्च मठाधीश बनने के सपने में ही किसी के लिए दुत्कार और तिरस्कार छिपा है। सर्वोच्च पदों से जब निकृष्ट विचार उगले जाते हैं तो पूरी सभ्यता कलंकित होती है। हम किसी भी स्तर पर इसे बर्दाश्त नहीं कर सकते। तिरस्कार, दुत्कार, नफ़रत और गैर बराबरी को तवज्जो देने वाले सभ्यता के भक्षक हैं। हर धर्म अपनी सर्वोच्चता की घोषणा करते है और उसकी आड़ में अमानवीयता का नंगा नाच करता है।
