धूप बगबगा कर उगी है। दो दिनों से ठंड तारी थी। आज सूरज ठंड को पछाड़ देगा। सूरज को अपने होने का बोध है। होना भी चाहिए। संसार के अस्तित्व की बड़ी वजह यह सूरज भी तो है। मनुष्य तांडव नृत्य करे या विभीषिका के गीत गाये, सूरज रोशनी देता रहेगा। उसकी तरह समदर्शी कौन होगा! लाखों वर्षों से अपनी भव्यता और सौम्यता लिए वह पूर्व क्षितिज पर उग आता है। सूरज के समक्ष लोग यों ही सिर नहीं नवाते! वैसे भी तथाकथित सभ्यता की प्रकृति है कि बल के सामने झुक जाता है और कमजोरों पर फनफनाने लगता है। सभ्यता का यह बुरा पक्ष है, इसलिए सभ्यता में बहुत से दुर्गुण घुस आए हैं। कुटिलता उसका अनिवार्य हिस्सा बन गया है। गुस्सेवर हाथी की तरह मनुष्य को रौंदती बढ़ रही है।

इन दिनों : विचार सरहदों में नहीं बँधते

सभ्यता शायद उसे कहेंगे जिसमें साथ लेने की अपूर्व क्षमता हो। मौजूदा सभ्यता विघटन में विश्वास करती है। तोड़ते जाओ, खंड-खंड करो। तुममें खंडित करने की जितनी क्षमता होगी, उतने ही मौजूदा सभ्यता के वारिस बनोगे। यही वजह है कि इस सभ्यता में मारने के जितने गुण हैं, जिलाने के नहीं हैं। उसने मारने की क्षमता विकसित कर ली है और जब मारेंगे तो आप मरने के लिए भी तैयार रहें। लोभ-लालच की दुनिया अंततः मृत्यु तक घसीट ले जाती है।

यहाँ सिद्धांत शत्रु ढूँढ रहा है। लोगों से कह रहा है कि शत्रु को पहचानो। वह शत्रु पहचानने के तरीक़े भी बता रहा है। सिद्धांत दोस्त पहचानने के लिए नहीं कह रहा। शत्रु पहचानने का ज्ञान दे रहा है। शत्रु पहचान कर क्या करना है? उससे दूर रहना है या उसे टार्गेट करना है। जीवन मिलन का नाम है। मृत्यु अलगाव का। हम दूर जाते-जाते इतने दूर चले जाते हैं कि अपने ह्रदय की धड़कन भी नहीं सुन सकते।

इन दिनों : प्रकृति, असमय के मेघ और षडयंत्र

बुद्ध, ईसा, गांधी- यों ही जीवित नहीं हैं। उन्हें गये, बरसों बरस बीते, लेकिन वे आज भी क़ायम हैं। उनके दौर में बहुत बादशाह और अमीर-उमराव हुए, लेकिन उन्हें इतिहास या वर्तमान में दो चार पंक्तियाँ भी नसीब नहीं हैं, लेकिन इन्हें करोड़ों के दिल हासिल हैं।

आज सुबह पक्षियों के मधुर स्वर सुनते, पलाश को देखते और महुए की सुगंध लेते दूर तक जंगल में गया। सर्वथा जनशून्य नही था। आदिवासियों के घरों से धुएँ उठ रहे थे। बरगद, बाँस और सैकड़ों तरह के पेड़-पौधों के बीच अनसुना संवाद चल रहा था। बीच-बीच में चिड़िया की चहचह से वन गुंजरित था। इतिहास में शायद यह दर्ज न हो कि जब कोई सभ्यता हज़ारों के ख़ून पी रही थी तो वन की सभ्यता उससे अलग बह रही थी। वह जरा भी चिंतित नहीं थी। यह सभ्यता बताती है कि आदमी महज यंत्र नहीं है और यंत्रों पर अतिरिक्त निर्भरता हमें अतिरिक्त ग़ुलाम बनाती है। शहरों में स्वतंत्रता की तलाश है और यहाँ स्वतंत्रता स्वभाव है। यंत्र आधारित सभ्यता चाहे तो सीख सकती है।

धरती के हर प्राणी जीने आये हैं। उन्हें जीने का स्पेस चाहिए। मौजूदा सभ्यता जीने का स्पेस ख़त्म कर रही है।
